Stawell Harness Racing Club is gearing up for an exciting day of equine action, entertainment, and fashion at the Stawell Toyota Pleasant Creek Plate race day on Good Friday. The event promises a fun-filled day for all ages with gates opening at 12:30 pm and free entry for everyone. The first race is scheduled to kick off at 12:54 pm.
Attendees can look forward to a range of children’s activities and the chance to participate in the Easter egg and spoon race heats, where winners will receive a free family pass for the finals. The finals will also feature a meet and greet with Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout. Additionally, ‘Frocks at The Trots’ will offer prizes for various fashion categories, supporting WomenCan and Team Teal. Interested participants must register before the first race.
The Trackside Bar and Bistro will be open for lunch and dinner, and a free barbecue will be provided by the club. Families and friends are encouraged to come together at Laidlaw Park to enjoy the festivities and support The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Despite a challenging position during the race, driver Lochie Cook skillfully guided Swiss Lightning to a two-meter win, showcasing the horse’s potential and Bibby’s breeding expertise.
Kerryn Manning’s The Sportz Star secured its 14th career victory at Ararat, highlighting the success of the eight-year-old gelding. The all-girls driving trifecta featuring Manning, Michelle Wight, and Jackie Barker added to the excitement of the day, emphasizing the diversity and skill within the harness racing community.
