An unwavering faith in North American bloodlines has proven successful for Durham Park Standardbreds’ Bruce and Vicki Edward, as demonstrated by their recent triumphs at Melton with Sir Jimmy and Keayang Hollywood, both sired by the renowned Art Major.
Since 2008, the Edwards have imported nine broodmares from the United States, resulting in an impressive track record of 416 wins, including seven Group 1 champions and $5.6 million in prize money.
The standout mare from Durham Park’s American lineup is O Narutac Bella, a progenitor of multiple winners including Turn It Up, Treasure, and Narutac Prince. The legacy continues with the second generation, boasting 69 wins and $1.6 million in earnings.
Notable successes include Magic Z Tam’s offspring, tallying $873,545 in winnings, Ideal Priority’s six winners totaling $759,138, and Hawaiian Hottie’s progeny banking $725,490. Tamara Hall has also left a mark with seven winners amassing $676,207.
Garden Gate Tina, Molly’s Lucky Star, Rockaround Sue, and Carolsideal complete the roster of American mares imported by the Edwards, collectively contributing to the breeding program’s success.
Bruce Edward acknowledges the significant impact of these mares, noting their exceptional performance and the subsequent retention of their daughters within the breeding program.
In other racing news, the French stallion Classic Connection, part of Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster, saw success with Cee Cee In Paris winning the NSW Foundation 2YO Trot at Menangle.
