Classic Connection will be available to Australian and New Zealand breeders in 2025 as Yabby Dam Farms and Haras des Trotteurs announce their Stallion Roster for the upcoming season. The French-bred stallion will stand alongside E L Titan at the Goulburn Valley Equine Centre in Victoria, offering a chilled option for breeders in the region.
Having already shown promise as a stallion in the Southern Hemisphere, Classic Connection, a son of the renowned sire Love You Fra, boasts a perfect record with two two-year-old winners from his initial crop. Notably, Cee Cee In Paris secured two victories, including a win at the New South Wales 2yo Trotters Foundation Final at Menangle, while Franco Americano triumphed at Maryborough.
With a successful stint in Europe as a group 1 winner, Classic Connection spent a season at stud in France before being acquired by Yabby Dam Farms & Haras des Trotteurs. Renowned NSW trainer Blake Fitzpatrick commended Classic Connection’s progeny, noting their quick learning abilities and natural talent as juvenile trotters.
Unlike Love You’s offspring, which typically require time to develop, Classic Connection’s progeny appear to excel as natural juvenile trotters, according to Fitzpatrick. This distinction has garnered attention and interest among breeders and trainers in the industry, positioning Classic Connection as a sought-after stallion in the region.
Interested breeders can avail of Classic Connection’s services at the Goulburn Valley Equine Centre, with chilled semen options available for Australia and New Zealand. The service fees are set at $3,850 (incl GST) for Australia and $4,000 (plus GST) for New Zealand. For bookings and inquiries, breeders can contact Louise at +61 428 792 834 or louise@harasdestrotteurs.com.au.
Classic Connection’s return to the breeding scene in 2025 signifies a significant development for the Australian and New Zealand harness racing industries. With a promising track record and the endorsement of industry experts like Fitzpatrick, Classic Connection’s presence in the stallion roster is poised to make a notable impact on the region’s breeding programs and the quality of future trotters.
As the breeding season approaches, breeders and enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the opportunities that Classic Connection’s genetics bring to the table. The collaboration between Yabby Dam Farms, Haras des Trotteurs, and this exceptional stallion sets the stage for a new chapter in harness racing, blending European lineage with Australian and New Zealand breeding practices.
