Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has made a significant move in the Victorian racing scene by acquiring the radio assets of Racing & Sport Network (RSN), making it the exclusive broadcaster of horse, harness, and greyhound racing in the region. The deal, valued at $3.25 million, solidifies SEN’s position as the primary audio broadcaster of racing in Victoria, encompassing all three codes of the sport.
The acquisition, set to be finalized by September 1, 2025, involves SEN purchasing the radio assets from the Victorian Racing Industry, which includes Racing Victoria, Harness Racing Victoria, and Greyhound Racing Victoria. This strategic move will see RSN’s content integrated into SEN’s extensive audio and digital network, with programming enhancements anticipated to cater to the diverse needs of racing enthusiasts.
Craig Hutchison, CEO of Sports Entertainment Network, expressed the company’s commitment to revolutionizing racing coverage, aiming to engage both devoted fans and casual listeners with innovative content. Victorian Racing Industry spokesperson and RSN Director, Aaron Morrison, lauded the partnership with SEN, citing the network’s expertise, reach, and audience growth strategies as key factors in the collaboration. The agreement ensures the continuation of RSN’s revered tradition in broadcasting Victorian racing events, while also paving the way for fresh and inventive content on the platform.
SEN’s expansion in the racing domain extends beyond the RSN deal, with the network recently securing a five-year production agreement with Harness Racing Victoria through its television division Rainmaker. This partnership will lead to the creation of harness racing content across 28 tracks annually, reinforcing SEN’s foothold in the industry.
